hello, i’m vonnie

the illustrator behind hello vonnie. i draw colourful little worlds and characters, mostly because it makes me happy, and hopefully it makes you happy too!

i love creating colourful, playful worlds. my work is full of bold colours, graphic shapes and friendly characters. i hope my illustrations make people smile, pause or feel a little bit of joy when they look at them.

i live and work from my studio in a small village in the north of the netherlands, usually with my cat poppy curled up somewhere nearby or attacking my pen. when i'm not drawing you'll probably find me outside in nature, gardening, going for a swim, or lost in a video game. i'm always a little inspired by fun characters, whether that's from a game, a movie or something i see outside!

i work across editorial, commercial, and children's projects: magazines, children's books, branding, packaging, and anything that needs a friendly burst of colour, made for kids and colourful adults alike. character design is one of my favourite things to do, i love creating little friends made out of simple shapes with a sweet little face.

whether it's a single illustration or a full brand world, i love finding playful, colourful ways to bring an idea to life. i'm also available for licensing and pattern design, so if you're after a print, a repeat pattern, or artwork for a product line, that's very much part of what i do too. most of the time it's just me in my studio, but i always enjoy collaborating with art directors, publishers and other creatives who want a bit more joy in their projects. my portfolio can be found here.

my colourful shop

alongside client work, i run my own little shop filled with risograph prints, stationery, stickers, washi tapes and other joyful objects. everything is designed to bring colour into everyday life and make the world a more colourful place!

i try my best to make my shop and wholesale business as sustainable as possible, choosing eco‑friendly materials and mindful packaging wherever i can. it’s a slow, ongoing process, but one i care deeply about!
